Satan, Sin & The Church # 45, (Acts 19:23)

In Acts 19:23, we again see the way of Christ, Christianity, spoken of as the Way and capitalized as I have given it here from the New King James Version. This alerts the reader that this way was no ordinary way. It is the divine Way, the Way deity teaches, through which one receives the blessings of God. No one receives the blessings of God except through Jesus (John 14:6).

In contrast to this, Proverbs 14:12 tells us, “There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.” Jeremiah 10:23 says, “O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.”

The Way of Christ is the way He speaks of in Matthew 7:14 as the narrow, KJV, (difficult, NKJV) way, which leads to eternal life. As in the first century, the majority wants the broad [easy] way, but that way leads to spiritual death.

The Way is learned from the New Testament. It must be believed and followed (obeyed), without change or subtraction (Galatians 1:8). Is the way that is taught where you attend, taught and practiced that way?

It is not unusual for professed Christians of today to accept other religions as being of equal status though those religions do not recognize Christ as the Son of God, or as Savior.

Politicians may be persuading more to follow their lifestyle today than preachers. If those politicians are not believers in Jesus, the Way, they are persuading people to follow a way the prophet Jeremiah, and Jesus warns us about.

One Presidential candidate, though reported to have been a member of the United Church of Christ denomination for more than twenty years, does not believe in Jesus as the Way. Here is the most revealing commentary on Obama's faith, by Obama himself. Obama was interviewed by Cathleen Falsani, author of "The God Factor: Inside the Spiritual Lives of Public People." Islam believes that Jesus Christ is a historical figure, a teacher, a prophet, but not the Son of God, the Savior of the world.

In Obama's words, "Jesus is a historical figure for me … And he's also a wonderful teacher.” You can draw your own conclusions about Obama and his faith. My conclusions are that it makes no difference how wonderful a teacher Jesus is, if He is a liar. What was it that Jesus said in John 14:6? That’s why the NJK translators capitalized “Way” in Acts 19:23.
